How to measure a T-shirt

Choose a shirt you already own that fits the way you like. Lay it flat on a level surface and smooth it gently without stretching the fabric.

  1. Width: Measure straight across the shirt from one underarm seam to the other.
  2. Length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder beside the neckline down to the bottom hem.
  3. Compare: Compare these measurements with the same measurements in the size chart for the exact garment you are ordering, when provided.

Flat garment width is not the same as a body chest measurement. Check whether a chart lists flat garment measurements or body measurements before comparing.
